40 Years of The Sword and the Trowel Available Online
Several people have contacted me recently to say how difficult it was for them to access copies of The Sword and the Trowel, both online and in hard copy. This famous monthly Baptist magazine was founded by Charles Haddon Spurgeon and edited by him between 1856 and 1892. In order to make this magazine available I have drawn on several collections in order to digitise it, including copies held at the Strict Baptist Historical Society and The Evangelical Library. I want to thank these organisations for their help in making the first 40 years (1865-1904) of the magazine available as searchable pdfs together with a table of contents. You can also download all 40 volumes in a .zip compressed archive using the link on the table of contents page.
