Destination and Purpose of St John’s Gospel by John A T Robinson

One of the most enjoyable aspects of working on biblicalstudies.org.uk is being able to read again material that I found influential whilst at Bible College. This article certainly falls into that category. D.A. Carson cites it favourably in his introduction to his Pillar Commentary on John’s Gospel, so I am in good company I think:

John A.T. Robinson, “The Destination And Purpose of St John’s Gospel,” Twelve New Testament Studies. London: SCM Press Ltd., 1962. pp.107-125. = New Testament Studies VI (1960), 117-131.
