Carl Friedrich Keil and Franz Delitzsch were 19th Century German Lutheran theologians. Their commentaries are conservative and express their conviction of the divine authority and inspiration of the whole Old Testament. Commentary
These are great, albeit learned and sometimes difficult, commentaries. Although the series appeared under the joint names of Keil and Delitzsch, the individual volumes were not co-authored. Basically, Delitzsch did Job, Psalms, and Isaiah (all very fine) and later a “new” commentary on Genesis, and Keil did the rest (including Genesis in the “K&D” series).
So, for this volume: the picture is that of Delitzsch, but the author of the Samuel commentary is C.F. Keil. You can find an image of him here:
